Dear BYDS Parents,
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2018-2019 BYDS school year and thank you for being a part of our exceptional educational vision.
Our year is off to a great start. Our teachers worked diligently during Work Week partnering in training sessions, preparing their classrooms, and planning their curricula. The building was filled with positivity, energy, and excitement. I am so proud to start this new school year with such an impressive faculty. This year kicks off with a new lunch program, expanded STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) lab spaces, renovated computer lab, new coding curriculum, and the return of our Rams basketball team!
Our teachers are extraordinarily talented and dedicated. BYDS’s educational results go far beyond impressive with test results that outperform nationally suburban, public, and independent schools. The heart of the BYDS experience is the relationship between inspiring, caring teachers and talented, motivated, and engaged students. Our graduates shine in their intellectual capacity, treasure a deep sense of Jewish values, and celebrate an optimistic appreciation for their own abilities and grit.
Our integrated curriculum focuses on data driven decision-making and individualized instruction. This focus allows students the opportunity to make connections across all subject areas, while our after-school enrichment activities provide a well-rounded social experience. This combination, in the context of 3,000 years of Jewish tradition, history, culture, ideas, and religion creates our vision for 21st century learning.
Welcome to the next step in building your child’s foundation and thank you for your trust.
Sincerely,
Dan Ahlstrom, Ed.D.
