Meet our Clergy

Rabbi Brian Strauss serves as the new senior rabbi of Congregation Beth Yeshurun. He joined the congregation in July 2001. Rabbi Strauss is very active in the Houston Community. His leadership, insight, and encouragement energizes and engages our congregation to greater awareness, pride and understanding in Judaism.

A native of Los Angeles, Cantor Goldman currently serves as cantor at Congregation Ner Tamid of South Bay in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. Before that, she served as both cantor and student cantor for seven years at Congregation Beit T’Shuvah, a synagogue and full inpatient addiction rehabilitation center that incorporates Jewish teachings along with 12-step modules and clinical psychotherapy. She was ordained as a cantor from the Academy for Jewish Religion, California in May 2014 and she holds a Master’s of Jewish Sacred Music from the same institution.

Rabbi Steven Morgen coordinates Adult Education programs at Beth Yeshurun and runs the Conversion Program. As an avid outreach advocate, Rabbi Morgen also creates very popular interfaith programs.

Rabbi Sarah Fort joined CBY in 2017 and oversees our Young Adult Programs. She works closely with our Religious School Department and with our children. Rabbi Fort brings an infectious enthusiasm to our youngest members.

Rabbi David Rosen became Rabbi Emeritus in August, 2018. He will teach classes and continue officiating life cycle events. Rabbi Rosen continues to add his caring and compassionate demeanor, and wisdom to our congregation.
