Leslie Pesis, Student Achievement Team Coordinator and Academic Language Therapist
Leslie Pesis is a native Houstonian and lifelong member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and then obtained her Master’s as a Reading Specialist from DePaul University in 2011. She spent 10 years working in Chicago as a Learning Specialist before moving back to Houston. She then completed the Neuhaus Education training program and is now a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). Leslie works with all types of learners, in all subject areas, helping each student find strategies, tools, and technology that will enhance their learning. She is passionate about her work and seeks to help all students succeed in their academic environment. Outside of school, Leslie enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with family. She and her husband have three Segal Academy students, Jonah (4th), Lila (3rd), and Leni (PreK).
